Our History
Three Generations of Styling Hair /
Salon Venustas vows to be more than a hair salon; it’s a legacy. Salon Venustas (originally known as Hair Concepts) was opened by Bea and Carl DiGirolamo in 1961. Carl’s father, Joseph DiGirolamo, owned the reputable salon, Jo-Ed’s Salon, in downtown of New Haven in 1941. Joseph was filled with pride through years of business and encouraged his son and his wife to open a salon of their own. Carl and Bea quickly found their passion for hairstyling. They enjoyed bringing clients into their salon and making them feel at home. Together Bea and Carl built an ever more successful Madison salon.
“When my parents retired in 2009 I was thrilled to become the studio owner,” states current owner and daughter, Alicia Mirando. For the past years as studio owner, Mirando has transformed her family’s salon while maintaining family traditions, “Today, the Salon Venustas team of stylists carries on the DiGirolamo traditions of attention to detail, impeccable service, and modern innovation.” Alicia will travel around the world to discover new trends in hairstyling to share with the salon. The hairstylists at Salon Venustas are dedicated professionals that will bring a distinctive beauty to their clients. There are many wonderful things to admire when it comes to beauty.
